Entre le r\u00e9el et ce qui en est vu, se loge le processus de la prise de vue. Ce processus, dans le cas de la photographie num\u00e9rique, offre une mati\u00e8re \u00e0 explorer, une mati\u00e8re num\u00e9rique.
Les portraits pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s ici sont une partie de l’\u00e9tude entreprise par Marcol d\u00e8s 2012 sur la photographie num\u00e9rique et le potentiel artistique de son processus technologique. Quand ce processus est travaill\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 ses limites, apparaissent des artefacts qui ne sont autres que les indices de ses limites. Et ces indices deviennent, dans le travail photographique de Marcol, une mati\u00e8re po\u00e9tique.
Des pixels du capteur photographique et des algorithmes de traitement de l’image surgissent des portraits \u00e9vanescents. L’absence de d\u00e9tails commun\u00e9ment transmis par la photographie et la pr\u00e9sence d’une mati\u00e8re num\u00e9rique proposent au spectateur d’investir son propre imaginaire puis de fa\u00e7onner sa propre image mentale de ce que rec\u00e8le l’\u0153uvre. De cette mani\u00e8re, l’\u0153uvre de Marcol sugg\u00e8re une possible et riche r\u00e9alit\u00e9 plut\u00f4t que d’imposer un r\u00e9el fig\u00e9 et sans profondeur.
En prenant le contrepied de la photographie hyperr\u00e9aliste, o\u00f9 tout est donn\u00e9 \u00e0 voir, jusqu’\u00e0 la naus\u00e9e, au-del\u00e0 m\u00eame de l’exp\u00e9rience visuelle du r\u00e9el, Marcol offre au spectateur un renouveau photographique o\u00f9 l’image ne contient que le ferment n\u00e9cessaire au d\u00e9veloppement d’un imaginaire personnel, o\u00f9 la photographie divergerait de sa fonction hyper-documentaire pour devenir un art abstrait du r\u00e9el.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between reality and what is seen, the process of shooting takes place. This process, in the case of digital photography, offers a matter to explore, a digital matter.
The portraits presented here are part of Marcol’s study started in 2012 on digital photography and the artistic potential of its technological process. When this process is pushed to its limits, artefacts appear indicating its limits. And these indices become, in the photographic work of Marcol, a poetic matter.
From pixels of the photographic sensor and image processing algorithms surface evanescent portraits. The absence of details commonly transmitted by photography and the presence of a digital matter proposes to the viewer the possibility of investing his own imagination thus shapes his own mental image of what the work conceals. In this way, the work of Marcol suggests one among many and enriched reality rather than imposing a fixed real without depth.
From an opposite standpoint of hyperrealist photography, where everything is given to see, up to nausea, even beyond the visual experience of reality, Marcol offers to the spectator a photographic renewal where the image contains only the necessary ferment for the development of a personal imagination, where photography diverges from its hyper-documentary function to become an abstract art of reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
